Opening the assistant
Click Chat in the left sidebar from anywhere in the app. It opens a full-page conversation titled Ask Seamind — separate from the course player, so you can use it before, during, or after your training.What it can help with
The empty chat offers three quick prompts to get you started:- Explore Modules — find out what courses are available and what they cover
- Get Help — have a concept explained in a different way
- Study Tips — get advice on how to prepare for a quiz
Tips for good answers
- Be specific. “What are the fire-safety steps for an engine-room fire?” works better than “tell me about safety”.
- Ask for a different explanation if the first answer doesn’t click — “explain that more simply” or “give me an example”.
- Use it to study, not to look up quiz answers mid-quiz. The assistant is there to help you understand the material, not to complete assessments for you.
Good to know
- Ask Seamind shows its thinking as it searches, then gives you the answer with the sources it drew on.
- If your connection drops mid-answer, you can retry — your conversation is preserved.
- The assistant is a learning aid. For account, assignment, or login problems, contact your admin or IT team instead — see Troubleshooting.
